Session B: Five Thursdays, beginning
October 30, 10:00am-1:00pm

For beginners and for those who would like to set aside the time to focus on the fundamental principles of representation in painting. Using simple still lifes, but set out in gorgeous, full colors, we will engage in a series of studies as to how the greatest painters have tackled the representation of form in space. Each class will have a theme, and alternate classes will have structured exercises and discussions on such topics as drawing for the painter, the use of warm and cool colors, mixing and blending paint, classical vs. impressionist representation, and representation which breaks through into dynamic and bold, color statements. Materials list provided.
