Guilford Art Center's Artistry Annual Holiday Sale Celebrates Handmade Crafts

Guilford Art Center announces its annual Artistry Holiday Sale of Fine Craft & Art, which will take place November 4, 2011 through January 8, 2012. One-of-a-kind, handmade crafts by hundreds of artists from across the country will be featured at this annual event, including ceramics, candles, glass, jewelry, fiber, ornaments, stationery, leather goods, toys, and more.

Scores of new artists will be included in the show this year, with a strong representation of participants from Connecticut and the shoreline area. Works by Guilford Art Center students and instructors will also be featured, putting a spotlight on works created in the Center's school studios. "This event showcases gorgeous fine craft, and is always a great opportunity to find truly special and unusual gifts for the holiday season," says Maureen Belden, Guilford Art Center Program Director. "Our decorating scheme is always artistic and fun, and makes for an intimate shopping experience for all those who like to avoid the crowds at the mall. Visitors love the festive atmosphere and the chance to find unique gifts while supporting the arts."

All proceeds from Artistry benefit the exhibiting artists and Guilford Art Center's educational and community programs. Artistry hours are Monday through Saturday 10am-6pm, Thursday 10am-8pm, Sunday 12-5pm.

Special events over the course of the season include:

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, November 4, 5-8pm: Join us for shopping, refreshments and music.

MEMBERS' WEEKEND: November 4-6: Members receive 15% off all items and receive 10% off throughout the rest of sale. Become a member and immediately receive this benefit.

JEWELRY & CHAMPAGNE DAY: Thursday, December 1, 10am-8pm: Sip Champagne while finding great gifts-or treats for yourself--including a huge array of jewelry by featured artists.
