Art in all media that explores various notions of posing for an image, as it relates to artist, subject and/or viewer. Works in the exhibit explore such aspects as: a subject’s self-presentation; an artist’s own presentation of a self-conscious image to the viewer; a sitter or artist deliberately confounding their own identity; or the relationship between artist and model. In a presentation of art works in a wide variety of media, this show attempts to portray a gamut of ways that artists might choose to present/interpret themselves and others in their work. Poser includes paintings, photographs, drawings, and mixed media works by twenty-one artists.
